The two sides

It has been a long time I have jot down my thoughts and really 7 months have just passed by with so many incidents both, great and some painful that went by. I blaming the internet connection not there for me to blog, no time to sit and write, am running out of topics etc etc took me over from writing. Thats lame I know..

Ok, to the point.. what makes me write this thought is my experience on the New year's eve.

Well, I was at the Taj this New year's eve and boy had I great time.. Well I am not the sorts who partys on the New yea'rs eve, to me the eve means a lot, a beginning of different date, mother Earth completing the cycle and a start for so many new things and new perspectives. I therefore prefer, spending my time in the Church in the midnight service and part take in the Holy communion. But this time it was a different story for differnt reasons. Well this Taj happens to be one of the best Tajs. I mean the place is really beautiful, sea facing and whats more?? it was just "The" place for the party. Thanks to Sakshi for succesfully coaxing me to be there :D . I obliged and am glad I did. We were 9 folks in number and the entry fee for the party was 2000 bucks per head. The Party started with the black angels dancing on the podium (ofcourse the firangs) and the crowd was high on music and drink. We danced as long as the music was good but the most of it, I was having fun with my gang. :)

And then i asked for Orange juice which was served to me by a 20 odd year old young man who was waiting us that night, the juice came in a disposable glass and when i tasted, it was nothing but a mere Rasna/Tang, no where close to the fresh Orange juice and the cost....whoa!!! 150bucks, it didnt taste anyway good to me to gulp it completely and yes, I had to waste it. What came to my immediate notice was this Waiter.

What was common between him and I was we both were in the party, well I paid to enter the party and he was paid to serve in the party. I am not trying to draw paralles here but I must say, I was overwhelmed to see this young man working there while the whole crowd partied, no one knows if he loved his job, no one asked him if he wants a cup of water nothing. Life is such, and as Vivek aptly says "Hard". Its not just the waiter, but in my day to day life also I come across many such people around; who are the sole bread winners for their respective families and are hard working to keep up their responsibilites. I wonder, what would their dreams be, their pain, their hunger the last thought that occurs before they sleep in the night. I am not too sure of that but I understand that their struggle for a day would be to live to see another day in hope and health. I am not against elaborate and lavish parties but even in those expressive celebrations of wealth, I dont want to forget the flower vendor who has sweated to bring it to my home and make my celebration a little more surreal. I thank a zillion to the Almighty for blessing me with the bestest in my life but that doesnt mean they are not blessed. To each his own. But who knows I am blessed this way to bless them? Like Bible says in the book of Esther: "And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” It strikes me everytime I see someone and when my heart goes out for that person, I want to make his/her life touched. I am not bothered abt the reward I may/maynot get for the action but let me live that moment for someone who needs me. It certainly is a great expereince to give, for the Lord loves a cheerful giver :) and the gratification that prevails, will be a life changing moment each time you do it.

I want to keep this question open to you.. Did u touch somebody's life today? If yes then you are a wonderful blessing to that Somebody if not then please go ahead and gift somebody that smile which was lost, in your own way and come back and tell me how you felt about it.

The Lost Stole!!!

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.!!

On a recent summery day, I was waiting at the stop for dear Anusha to pick me to office. Then I opened by umbrella from my bag and a thought crossed my mind that I might loose something and therefore I was careful with my phone and wallet. So there she came to pick me up..and in my hurry I opened the car door and put my things in the back seat and entered the front seat. Little distance we covered and I knew that somethn was missing..I checked my bag, My stole was gone. That was my favourite stole, I looked for it in the back and front seats and it was gone :( . I almost had tears in my eyes and was sulking thats when Anusha cheered me up to forget it and undesrtand that its time was done..

Its a very common situation we all land up with, first we get attached to something and then when we loose it, we sulk about it some for few minutes and some for ages. That reminds me of a story from Bible, of a woman with 10 coins, when she looses one, she goes in search of her lost coin, she reaches out to all the places, finally when she finds it, her joy is complete. Further, this lady goes and celebrates for having found that one single coin.
And this story is apt for all of us too, we loose and find things, but the feeling of finding the lost one is amazing and it is infact a great relief. Well, that's materialistic association what one holds to.
However, when it comes to humans, we see many a time, that all of us are associated to many people deeply in our lives. I dont want to quote any examples of who could be so close to you and I, as we know the list goes long and endless. It is love that goes unconditionally to those that are dear to us. And there comes a point in each one of our lives when we loose one of them. Thats a hard fact to accept, the one dear to us is no more turning back no more talking to us, no more hearing us, no more coming home no matter what we do, they cannot be counted or depended. It is a mystery to understand and I guess it is unsolved yet. The heart that goes out for that simple stole and that single single coin goes even more deeply to that one who's gone forever to the land of paradise. A land of unreturn, a land of silence, a land of questions yet with no answers, a land of only fond memories.I understand that the complaining and groaning is only for the void that dear one has made in our lives..Somehow it is just that our world becomes suddenly incomplete without them. Whom shall we question the same for taking the loved one? Should we or shouldn't we? As Job rightly says in the Bible, "The Lord has given and the Lord has taken away, Blessed be thus, the name of the Lord!" It really takes time and courage for all of us to understand that statement and apply it in our lives, but we all do fight within ourselves at some point with the question, "Why me" !I think thats the part of the process in making a stronger and a better 'You' to carry that pain of not having that loved one anymore..

But time is a healer, lets not forget that. As time ages we all tend to grow out of that pain and gradullay accept the loss and live with it. With great patience and learning we have to give ourselves sometime and not to push hard to let it go. Else this will cause our other relationships to suffer greatly, which is not because you want it to happen that way but it is because somewhere unconsciously you tend to throw that frustration on others. In my opinion we have to continue to respect and value our relationships and take them as source of help to grow out of the pain.I want to leave you with this thought, You And I know that we all have to enter that land of silence, how about giving the others who love us unconditinally, a chance of their lifetime to make you that special one who would be missed dearly when we are gone! Why we try and fight with things that are not in our control rather to making life that can be bettered by all means and control!

P.S: I want to dedicate this to my dear friend Rukmani who of my age, married and with a 8 year old son and has recently lost her husband, a friend and a companion of her life a loss that can never be replaced!!

The Rainbow!

This rainbow I saw on Friday the 18th of June 2010, is the best one I have ever seen in my life.
(Pardon me for the pic is not as perfect as the rainbow is, this is from my mobile cam :) ) I happend to catch it at The Moment. It was with the fullest of colours and perfect in arc, painted absolutely flawless on the sky.
I just closed my eyes and registered the image I saw in my memory. And just enjoyed the gift that nature keeps pouring onto us time and again.
It was magnificient to the eyes, and I just went mute and asked Vivek to stop the car until we saw it completely.
And it was The Moment, 'coz in the next 2 minutes it was gone. I was glad I caught this moment. Ohh!! else I would have missed such a wonderful sight.
There's a hymn that goes "Then sings my Soul..My Saviour God to Thee..How great Thou art..How great Thou art". This hymn aptly suits that moment.
Of many things in life seen, there are many such beautiful moments always, that appear to take your breath away and lighten your heart either ways.
I do not know if I would ever get to see such a lovely one in my life, but as the Rainbow is meant for Hope, I do hope to see many and more beautiful ones again and again as long as I live!!
The Right Moment is what we all need to be alert of and watchful of to celebrate Life!!!!

What is your's? What is mine?

It brings a smile on my face when I ponder over that question.
Imagine, when that question is posed to you!
Think about it, what is yours?
Land, Sky, Water, Fire, home, wife, husband, child, materials name it and nothing of these are ours.
I recently witnessed my Gran'Ma's funeral.
I watched her go through the pain. However, even on the last but one day, her memory was fresh about incidents as if they happend yesterday!
I was so marvelled at her memory that even in that pain she managed to tell me the story of our childhood.
When she passed away, we all 'fcourse mourned but at the same time were glad that she celebrated the cream of her life in everything.
Then this thought occured to my mind, "What was her's?" and the answer came out loud and clear Nothing!!! Not the house she left to her heir, not the garden she pruned everday, not the kitchen she worked the food for us and Not even the body for it gave up due to the age and was prone to illness.
Until this revealation struck me, I was always obsessed about many things in life (I am sure we all are) saying I did it, it is my stuff, he is mine, she is mine, me, mine, I !!! Phew its enormous...
But trust me this thought is absolutely flawless..Come on when I pass on from this life, what do I take with me? Money? Family? Posessions? Attachements? Nothing at all...
But practically speaking evrything comes to an end!
Then why do we worry about "This is right" "This is wrong". Let your right be so and the wrong be so why be stuck to it? Lets move on!
Coz when the real pain creeps in, it is me and only me who has to suffer through it and not my Pa, Ma or spouse or brothers...Everyone has to carry their own cross in their life.
It's the same rule for everyone and it is signed and sealed!!!
Therefore, when we are aware that nothing is ours why do we quarrel on so many things?
Not with others but a constant battle is fought within us!
Understanding it is the real beauty of life!
How true! Thats when we start to let go of things which we are stuck to in life!
All that we have and we can call our's is the Sleep!!!
Sleep, where we forget every bit of life and enter a world of peace and divine rest!!!
Now sleep I mean in all senses...
Sleep is peace, it is rest that nurtures the worn out mind and heart, sleep is the only one thing that is our's, for it helps us connect to ourself and rise up from the ashes to a different person altogether!
Everything comes to an end when we allow it to rest in ourself.
This is again a choice that you and I have to consciously make, it takes time but sure it will happen for everything that has a beginning has an end too, how it has to end and how we put it to rest is upto us.
How I wish that each one of us choose the appropriate way bring things to an end in our lives and enjoy that pleasant sleep each night and life!!!
Therefore, ask for PEACE from the Almighty and HE shall grant it to you!!!

Anger!!!

The one emotion that often cannot be controlled!
Each one of us do get angry, and why does one get angry is really an interesting observation.
You even see kids get angry (say at an age of 2-4). Its obvious that they dont understand what it is. Children, tend to get angry when their needs are not met.
They are naive of the good and the bad, and they are too small to understand the emotion to control it either.
It typically happens in scenarios when the parent instructs the child of not to do something, which a child insists to do and the parent tries to stop the child from doing the act, and then the anger just creeps into the child.
Its a pattern, first the child asks for something->He/she doesnt get it->He/she becomes stubborn to do it->If allowed then problem is solved else the child is bound to get angry!
When you keenly root-cause it, the child also feels that his/her ego is hurt, it is that the child feels powerless for not being able to change or alter the situation by any means.
And thats a kind of a routine in a child how he/she becomes angry even before they can understand it.
Now lets take a deep look at the adults when they get angry.
It is more or less the same theory that the adult also follows.
How clearly we get habituated to this emotion, only because we often feel helpless and powerless to change the way things take place.
It is a constant battle within a person of not accepting the situation as it is..
And the result of it will be devastating when the anger backfires,it is bound to destroy as the motivation of the anger is to bring out the energy that is built up inside the heart.
Anger is momentary, however the damage it occurs is not so!
That's when the situation gets sour and the other person who is involved eventually gets into the rift and then its a heated situation.
It might be solved easily or might end up leaving a trace for the grudge to just play its part in the involved people's lives.
And how each one handles it is a different story. But how does one undesrtand it?
The energy built up due to anger needs to be bursted out. That's the point that needs to be arrested. This will help ease the energy called anger, to calm down and help to keep the repercussion of the same under control.
But this choice can come only by wisdom and the intelligence of the process that helps us control ourselves and let the peace prevail.
Well my concluding line as always will remain the same..come on ...live and let live..
Life is too short for being angry and loosing bonds..So, lets work together in building a beautiful me, you, the family and the rest of the world!!
Peace!!!!

Moments and Experiences!!!

Every moment is an experience!
And life is all about experiences!!!
And there are a pot pourri of experiences with many flavours be it happiness, satisfaction, laughter, pain, illness, sadness, torture, music, sleep, prayer, success, failure and the list goes on and the fact is that every incident in your life is an experience..
And these experiences some sweet, some bitter are those which etch in our memory and become those moments we cherish or curse when we ponder upon them.
Count 'em, they are countless but that is what makes your life..
Now what can make an experience good or bad is not in one's control..
Harder we try, but only a trace of it can be controlled and not the whole!
And the result of it is what becomes the best, good, bad or ugly of the situation..
Nothing can be done about the uncontrollable, but we can really do something about the controllable, after all its about the experience that leaves its footprint-a lingering opinion on the person, place, journey, food or anything.
But sure you'd admit to me if I say that every moment and every experience associated to it are necessary to bring in the balance in all those millions of moments we live in or would have lived in.
I'd also say, look at every situation as an experience that you've gonna go through!
This might give a different perception, and will make you prepared for whatever the situation has in hold for you!
For every experience comes to you as a test just to bring out the way you react or refer or relate to it!
Thats when you are educated about yourself and also get a learning on how best it can affect you(or someone) in good/bad way!
Whining or being afraid of how the experience would be is merely nothing!
All that matters is, "It is all about living every moment only to taste the experience of it!"
Because trust me Experiences are those that matures you and defines the person you are and you will be!!!
So go on and live it and let live!!!!!

Gratitude!!

How often it would have felt nice when someone said "Thank You" to you and you know that was really meant for perhaps even the tiniest gesture you do!
I have seen it myself, being grateful to someone to whom the due credit belongs to, is a completeness to the gesture of kindness bestowed on me..
Ofcourse it might sound very formal as people call it, but I do see that Gratitude as an expression itself is the best way of telling someone "Hey, I really appreciate what you just did to me!!"
A very simple thought to ignore, however it can simply bring a smile on someone's face who deeply deserves it!
M sure we would have watched the way kids react when you say thank you to them when they would perhaps have fetched you a glass of water, a small action I know but the child definitely would feel "Wow!! m glad I did that"
We all are like that same small children inside our hearts...
We love to feel that way!
But do we convey the expression to somone who deserve it?
Many times we would have shied it away or ignored saying, "He'll understand it"
But hey, tell it to him, he will feel a lot more better coz you know how it feels like too right??
Not always everyone would understand such thoughts lest you express it...
Give someone also a chance to live that moment..
Definitely that person would give away all that he or she can someother time when you really need some help!
For someone aptly said it "Gratitude is the memory of heart!!"
Go ahead, say thanks to all those who truly deserve it!
And I say it myself too, to each one of you "Thanks a ton for every kind gesture you showed towards me!"

P.S: I dedicate this to my GOD who taught me this attitude of gratitude and I deeply thank HIM for keeping me alive every passing moment, a chance to witness many beautiful things around!!
