Yet another topic to amuse me!
Marriage!!
In India, if you are not married before you cross 30 then people consider that something is terribly wrong with you! Families incite their children to think about it as soon as they are settled and stabilised in their occupation. The prompting and the preparation begins all the more faster for girls comparatively. And then things somehow take shape to begin the institution!
Later on, it is even more interesting to see someone who never was ready for a tie up, will never be ready to leave their spouse even for a single moment after it.
However, my topic of interest is the question "WHY?" one has to get married?
Have seen many folks who are happily married and are in the line of hierarchy, but how sure are they for "What made them to decide rather, zero down on one person for life". Ofourse there are some broken relationships, though its a related topic but not to ponder upon at the moment.
Alright then! Back to the question WHY does anyone get married, the age old Scripture says, "The LORD saw that the man was alone in the garden and had no companion , So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs and closed up the place with flesh. Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man" (No offense meant on the religion).
Humm, that is true.. Like told by my friends, Companionship is the reason that makes the institution. Does that mean, companions aren't enough to lead a life, why marry the opposite sex? Why does this one person becomes so special and dear? So dear that he/she becomes the center of universe. Well that's tricky to answer.
However, in my opinion two people decide to spend the rest of their lives because of the comfort factor they share. (No infatuation here coz infatuation is clearly momentary and you realise it sooner)
The moment one understands the comfort level, it is all the more easy to win the trust of eachother. This is the beginning of the institution. And then comes into the picture of knowing eachother to the core, this becomes important to understand that you can manage to live with this person easily, that confidence is built. By the observation of each gesture of the spouse, both understand the values and the philosphy each one holds, this develops the respect. With this respect comes intelligence to react accordingly for eachother's moves. And when there is any dispute, it is the same intelligence that helps eachother to cling on. It then becomes effortless for eachother to be natural without any formalities and pretence. Thats the freedom that slowly starts its magic between the two, and then they know they are no more two different people but one soul separated physically!
Did I miss something?? You are right! you wondering whatever happend to the "Love" factor.
Love is the sole reason that enables the two differnt people to become one soul!
Does all this happen before the wedding? Not so, it is a practise that happens each and every day. Understand, you are already married to the person; the moment your heart says "Bingo!! go for it" You wondering if it really happens, trust me it does!!
And then your spouse is no more a person but a part of you, he/she becomes a habit that you start enjoying each day believing , "Yes, I can count upon this one for whatsoever situation I come across" this slowly brings in that peace and settlement in one's life that you are at ease with everything and each passing day!
Wow! Isn't it really overwhelming to know?
It indeed is a wonderful relation to enjoy on earth..The real essence of it is when you start living it as you display great companionship!
Thats true, true friends are meant for life and so are the people bonded in marriage, if there's no friendship then it becomes really un-inspiring. (No am not talking about the Kuch kuch hota hai line). This is my experience with my soulmate..
And yes I must say I am blessed to have him as my best friend and The better half! (GOD bless).
Ha, yes such is the magic of the bond that blends you into the cream of life!
Therefore, one has to really try to know the taste of it! ;-)
No wonder the old institution is amazingly powerful!
Hmm... Love - Marriage compounding topics to discuss upon. I am just back from my brother's wedding and was swinging in perspectives of the institution of marriage and love. Nevertheless though, both of them intricately bounded to eachother.
ReplyDeleteLove has always inspired me, and it sure did many a times :P But, thinking of the comfort level, to be honest I never experianced it, would love to though.
Good take my friend, an experiance learnt. Thank you!
Bravo.... nice bonding of eachother....
ReplyDeletePart 1.
do you think, this ends here.... and two married ppl can bring this bonding w/o understanding and if it is only understanding then when love is born..... or is it just time which converts this understanding to love with neither of the people knowing what happened and suddenly the world looks like a new generation as both wake up after a long time.....
Now let me flip to part 2.....
Why love marriages fails.... each-other hv the love and understanding before the knot is knit but ego kills both of these (and they become each other) even when nourished for a long time..... what is lacking here...
Isnt it all about knowing urself first and once a person succeeds at this first step, rest is a cake walk.... whether it is love marriage or arranged.....
What about ppl who cant see or cant speak or cant hear .... will they ever be successful in this... i guess they will.... and they will be called a better 0-e-t-a-h-c-e-h-r (other embedded inside each) then any other human being.... what is bonding them here.....
Again many more....
